LEVEL UP YOUR SESSION...

Here are just a few of the  favorite modalities that can be incorporated within, or used in addition to, your IMT sessions... Ask for details when booking your appointment!

01

KINESIO TAPING (KT TAPE)

You know that gooey, sticky layer of "stuff" between, say...raw chicken breast, and the skin? That's fascia.  The skin glides over muscle via fascia.  Over time, and with injury,  facia, can become stiff, causing inflammation, swelling, and allow less movement for the muscles, which can create a myriad of performance and mobility issues .

Kinesio tape lifts the skin, decompressing the layers of fascia, allowing for greater circulation of lymph and other vital fluids to help "unstick" the skin from the muscle!

02

VIBRATION THERAPY

According to a study in the Journal of Clinical & Diagnostic Research, vibration therapy and traditional massage are both effective at reducing delayed onset muscle soreness.

Vibration has shown effectiveness in flexibility and explosive power. Vibration therapy improves muscular strength, power development, decreased muscle soreness, increased range of motion, and increased blood flow under the skin.  It also has a temporary analgesic effect  to assist in pain relief!

03

INFRARED/ LOW LIGHT LASER THERAPY (LLLT)

When you undergo infrared or  LLLT, electromagnetic radiation penetrates deep into the cells, where it helps to accelerate production of ATP (cellular energy). This process can be compared to photosynthesis in plants, where sunlight is absorbed, and then converted to usable energy so that the plant can grow.   In the same way, infrared therapy  supports healing, by increased cellular activity.

Infrared therapy is a safe and effective solution to relieving pain and healing the body,  and it boasts it's  approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat a range of conditions!

INSTRUMENT ASSISTED SOFT TISSUE MANIPULATION (IASTM/Muscle Scraping)

Using "scraping" technique, and specially designed tools, IASTM breaks up scar tissue and helps to improve function of injured or less mobile areas of your body.  Microscopic tears in a muscle are what rebuild them, after they've been used.  These tears result in scar tissue building up, causing cumulative restrictions over time.

These soft tissue restrictions can limit your range of motion (ROM) and may cause pain. IASTM helps

to lessen these restrictions, and circulate more blood into the targeted area!

05

ATHLETIC CUPPING

How Cupping works… A vacuum is created with the cups, and when it is applied to the skin, the tissue is drawn UP, rather than compressed DOWN, like massage. This increases the blood flow, and stimulates healing.

Cupping may cause temporary redness/purple bruise-looking marks... Although it may look painful, there is no pain felt with cupping, and this is actually a favorable outcome, suggesting the treatment has successfully helped circulation old blood out of the area, to let new, healthy blood in!
